The “Prophecies” of Nostradamus and other So-Called “Prophets”

Ray Comfort of Living Waters made a video called The Secrets of Nostradamus Exposed. It’s amazing how people still keep on clinging on to the prophecies of Nostradamus even after one failed prediction after the other. For example, ten years ago, there was the hype that the Rapture (or for some, the end of the world) would hit on December 21, 2012. I was thinking about how I once said, “If I go missing after December 21–then the Bible was wrong about that no man knows but the Father only.” Jesus already said that no man knows but the Father in Matthew 24. Yet, people still fall for the “prophecies” of Nostradamus.

The Golden Chain of Redemption Links to the Perseverance of the Saints

The golden chain of redemption is taught in Romans 8:29-30 which says the following:

²⁹ For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. Anti-Vaxxers’ Arguments are Based on Science Falsely So-Called

As COVID-19 vaccines roll out, I really feel the need to write about this one at a scientific and theological perspective. 1 Timothy 6:20 warns about science falsely so-called as it’s rendered in the KJV. Modern translations render it as what’s falsely called knowledge. Science is from the Latin word scientia, which means knowledge. The KJV translators used certain Latin words such as Lucifer in place of Day-Star (presumably to avoid confusing Satan with Jesus) or Jehovah instead of Yahweh which is translated as LORD in all capital letters. Basically, the anti-vaxxers are running on pseudo-science or what’s falsely called knowledge.

The Church is Simultaneously a Hospital for Repentant Sinners and a Museum of Righteous Saints

As churches are still having their COVID-19 restrictions, I decided to write about this one. I personally want to get my COVID-19 vaccination so I can slowly start going back to church. Some people are in the hospital right now either due to severe cases of COVID-19. Others are in the hospital getting ready for vaccinations. This comes to mind a quote which is pretty much just half the truth that says, “The Church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum of righteous saints.” Such is the sorry state of today when churches are but hospitals but lives are never changed. The statement itself is not biblical either.

Can Believers Lose Their Salvation When They Willfully Sin?

At first glance, Hebrews 10:26 seems that you can lose your salvation. The conditional security crowd is very quick to say, “Haven’t you read Hebrews 10:26?” Some of them (such as Dan Corner of Evangelical Outreach) even go as far as to day that you lose your salvation every time you sin. They can go and say something like, “You can’t show me one verse you can fall into sin and still remain saved.” Men like Corner also go as far as to throw the false accusation that men who teach eternal security can’t teach holy living at all.

God’s Word is Sharper Than Any Double-Edged Sword

A lesson about the Armor of God would show that the Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:12). Hebrews 4:12 would tell us that the Word of God is actually sharper than any literal two-edged sword. The Word of God is described as a sword. An acronym for SWORD can be Scriptural Warning Over Religious Deception. The best weapon we’ve got is the Word of God. Any Christian fully trained and seasoned in the Word of God can be a greater threat to the evil of their day than the evil of their day is a threat to them. That’s why the Bible has been antagonized and outlawed throughout history.

The Sign Gifts of the Apostles are Not for Today

It can’t be denied that the apostles had signs and wonders. The apostles did what was humanly impossible by God’s power–cause the lame to walk again, open blind eyes, and even raise the dead. These are not just mere signs and wonders–these were to authenticate the apostles were truly from God with genuine miracles.

Hebrews 2:1-4

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. ² For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, ³ how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, ⁴ while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.
