The Difference of Growing Old Before and After the Flood

It can be easily understood that the longer you live–the older you get because of the telomeres will eventually wear themselves out. Also, it’s understood that growing old is a consequence of sin. The death sentence was passed down from Adam. Eventually, the health will deteriorate, the hormones will deteriorate. What will bother people is why people during the pre-Flood times actually aged much slower. Our many-times great-grandfather Adam lived up to 930 and another of our common ancestors Methuselah lived up to 969. The father of modern man, Noah, lived up to 950. Then we realize the downward trend that aging is now much faster than the pre-Flood men.

Saul of Tarsus Didn’t Choose Jesus, It Was The Other Way Around

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus into the great missionary to the Gentiles is a celebrated event. Saul changing his name to Paul is often celebrated. Yet, what’s often overlooked is that the conversion of Saul on his way to Damascus is a picture of the doctrine of grace. It’s easy to talk about Saul’s total depravity before conversion or the perseverance of the saints to talk about why he fought the good fight. However, it’s often forgotten to talk about two more points–unconditional election and irresistible grace. We forget that Saul of Tarsus had no free will to choose God–only to persecute the followers of Jesus way before they were called Christians in Acts 11:26.

Was Peter the First Pope?

As a former Catholic, I remembered one of the things taught in the Children’s Bible for Catholics was saying that Peter was the first Pope. It was commonly taught that Peter was the first Pope, he is the supreme shepherd of the Church, and that the Pope are his successors. Now, it’s time to have an examination of Peter whether or not he actually qualified to be the first Pope. A careful examination of Bible verses will slowly tell us that Peter couldn’t be the first Pope!

The Rock is Christ, Not Peter

Roman Catholics really need to spend more time reading their Bibles than having the priest interpret it for them. Besides, even the Good News Translation (GNT) says that Christ is the Rock:

1st Corinthians 10:4

And drank the same spiritual drink. They drank from the spiritual rock that went with them; and that rock was Christ Himself. (GNT)

It really is something when Roman Catholics really still want to insist that Peter is the Rock.

“Act Like Everybody Else” is Not Compatible with Christianity

I remembered one of the things that I grew up with was the mentality of, “Act like everybody else!” Sure, there’s such a thing as a social misfit. Christians aren’t called to be social misfits but they’re also called not to be like the rest of the world. The command is, in fact, very different when you think about what the Bible says on Christian conduct.

Romans 12:1-2

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (ESV)

Anti-Vaccine Conspiracies and the Love for MONEY

I don’t dare deny some hospitals and pharmaceutical companies can be profiteering from any plague. I think hospitals and pharmaceutical companies that are profiteering from the recent COVID-19 epidemic should be investigated and blattered to the public. However, some people (such as “Vatican expert” Patrick Scrivener (of Reformation Online) and David J. Stewart (of Jesus-is-Savior) are among those who formulate this “Big Pharma Conspiracy” or a “Medical Inquisition” then there’s that “We’ve got tons of evidence that this is a medical inquisition–ready to depopulate the world.” However, the pieces of evidences are as fictitious and preposterous. It’s like the “evidence” proven by Josh Axe and Andrew Wakefield. Wakefield had his license removed for the right reasons yet he’s still made a hero by some gullible people. It turns out that there’s a large amount of money in the anti-vaccination movement. 1 Timothy 6:10 says that the love for money is a root of all kinds of evil today. The anti-vaccination movement doesn’t just go on if money wasn’t involved.

Rejoicing for Being Insulted for Christ’s Name

To be insulted is to be put down and scorned. Many times, a useless fight happens because of an insult. Just think, it’s very easy to cross the street, get into a fistfight, get thrown in jail all because somebody called somebody a name. It reminded me of how before I got saved–I actually hit my classmate very hard after he called me a faggot. During my growing up years as an immature Christian, I really threw a fist or a slap at people who insulted me or for my faith. Yet, the Bible has a very different approach on how Christians should deal with insults.
