Some Catholics Don’t Want to Get Saved Because They LOVE Their Sinful Lifestyles

I don’t deny that some Catholics are humanly speaking, good citizens. Some Catholics try to live their best lives, engage in honest business dealings, do charity work, and do their best to be good citizens. However, based on my own experience, I did notice that the Jesuit parish I used to attend mass to, has this attitude of indifference towards people habitually living in sin. Some people are religious Catholics and are living in sin. It can start with the serial adulterer with a live-in partner. Many corrupt politicians are also very religious. There are also religious criminals and the jail is full of them. These people are religious and they enjoy living a life of sin at the same time.

When Non-Calvinists Openly Admit to Using Calvinist Sources (and Vice-Versa)

Years ago, I remembered becoming a non-KJV Only to becoming a KJV Only Fundamentalist. In spite of that, I still embraced Calvinists and non-KJV Only as family members as long as they showed signs of being born again. We do have some rabid anti-Calvinists who divide the body. In my case, I still respected those deemed Calvinists but not the hyper-Calvinists. I ended up getting into a world of confusion after my habit of reading Chick Publications landed me in Jesus-is-Savior. I did stop reading Jesus-is-Savior around 2011. It was a hard habit to break because conspiracy theories are mental drugs. I did manage to investigate John F. MacArthur’s websites and found myself agreeing with a lot of stuff. That’s all except MacArthur’s (and other similar preachers) stand on Calvinism. I still felt Calvinism is out of place even after discovering the KJV Bible is a Calvinist translation. Sadly, some non-Calvinists are still unaware that the KJV Bible as well as other sources, are Calvinist sources.

Some Nicknamed Reformed Theology, “Calvinism”

As some Christians have ranted ignorantly about Calvinism, I just want to do a table talk with Christian brothers and sisters who don’t exactly understand the term. Some non-Calvinists can become rabid anti-Calvinists because they don’t know the term or its origin. Some might even ignorantly say that John Calvin invented the term Calvinism. On the contrary, the term Calvinism only came sometime later. It was said that some of the followers of Martin Luther (later called Lutherans though Luther himself hated the name) used the name to distinguish their group from Calvin. On the contrary, Calvin would’ve never liked the name Calvinism and he had an unusual modesty to be on an unmarked grave.

Understanding the Irresistible Grace or God’s Effectual Calling

It’s often said that the I in TULIP is easily refuted because grace and the Holy Spirit can be resisted. You have people who resist the Holy Spirit. However, we need to understand what Irresistible Grace is and isn’t. This misconception is presented by Got Questions as follows:

A common misconception about the doctrine of irresistible grace is that it implies men are forced to accept Christ and men are dragged kicking and screaming into heaven. Of course, neither of these is an accurate description of the doctrine of irresistible grace as revealed in the Bible. In fact, the heart of irresistible grace is the transforming power of the Holy Spirit whereby He takes a man dead in his trespasses and sins and gives him spiritual life so that he can recognize the unsurpassing value of God’s offer of salvation. Then, having been set free from the bondage of sin, that man willingly comes to Christ.

Majoring the Minors Causing Divisions in the Church

It’s sad to think that some churches have gone from non-Calvinist to anti-Calvinist. I remembered what Paul David Washer said in one of his many sermons. It was that Calvinism vs. non-Calvinism isn’t the issue. It’s the doctrine of regeneration. I know that there are many “strange animals” around such as the KJV Onlyists, non-KJV Onlyists, Calvinists, and non-Calvinists. Again, I did want to remain in a fundamentalist position before. I wanted to be like I can embrace a Calvinist or a non-KJV Only as a brother or sister, provided they show signs of being truly born again. However, I was still convinced Calvinism is an error Christians must avoid like Charles Spurgeon’s cigar, or that the KJV is the most reliable English translation based on its presentation.

When Human Weakness Reveals God’s Worth

It’s very easy to laugh at someone because of their weakness and brag about how strong one is, right? People want to boast about their own strength rather than the grace of God. That’s the problem with salvation by works. It diminishes God and glorifies man. It’s like how mythologies teach that if the gods are impressed by your life, you deserve Paradise. Greek mythology teaches that Hades, lord of the underworld, sentences the just to the Elysian fields and the wicked to Tartarus. Sadly, Hades is but a fictional character making works salvation impossible. Instead, Christianity teaches that human weakness has a purpose. It’s so that the power of God will be magnified.
