The Blood of Bulls and Goats Will NOT Take Away Sins

Well, Eid El Adha will be starting this evening, right? Muslims have been duped into a lie that God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Ishmael instead of Isaac. Truth is, Genesis, not the Koran, contains the truth! This very belief alone (aside from Islam’s denial of Christ’s deity) proves that Islam isn’t compatible with Christianity. Muslims, in their celebration of Eid El Adha, have the feast of sacrifice. It really hurts me to think how Muslims are still relying on animal sacrifices. Like Judaism, Islam is still trying to stitch back the curtain that God has torn down after Christ’s finished sacrifice. Unfortunately, Muslims even deny the crucifixion of Jesus as they believe it was Judas Iscariot who was executed instead.

The Book of Hebrews was written to believing Jews who were oppressed by Judaism. The book can also be a love letter (indirectly) to Arabic Christians under the persecution of Islam. Hebrews 9:11-24 talks about the blood of Jesus and the animal sacrifices. The sad truth about animal sacrifices is stated as follows:

11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) 12 He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of His own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. (ESV)

The animal sacrifices in the Old Testament were a picture of things to come. When Christ died on the cross, it became the atonement made available for mankind. It wasn’t just for the Jews but also for the Gentiles who are given the offer of salvation. The veil at the Holy of Holies was torn symbolizing the end of the Old Testament. Animal sacrifices were ended and there’s only one perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 10:12) which ended all sacrifices. Jesus’ death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection came into full circle ending all of that.

This article is not written out of hate but love for the precious Muslims. Islam and Judaism are both focused on works and animal sacrifices. The call for salvation is given to both Jew and Gentile alike. The animal sacrifices can’t save anyone. Only the blood of Jesus can.
